As a curator in the field of media art, I have always been interested in interfaces and often also in the speculative. For me, one of the greatest strengths of art is that it not only stirs things up and provides impetus, but that it also breaks new ground and thus inspires. Media art in particular often gives rise to interesting designs and utopias that test out possible alternatives and thus seek to scrutinise the status quo.

I find it exciting to keep discussing what responsibility we as humans have towards our environment and how the various disciplines can contribute to development. Art creates a very special space in which we can critically scrutinise what digital technologies and media currently have to achieve in order to create a fairer society and how we ourselves could behave in this regard.
