KATHARINA ROGENHOFER
Author. Climate activist.

Katharina Rogenhofer knows how to stand up for a cause. She first studied Zoology in Vienna and then Biodiversity Conservation at Oxford. She then went on to work for the UNFCCC and – inspired by the activists at the climate summit in Katowice – started FridaysForFuture in Vienna. In April 2019 she initiated the Klimavolksbegehren (a popular petition on climate action), which lead to a successful motion in parliament. In July 2021 she published her first book “Ändert sich nichts, ändert sich alles“ [If nothing changes, everything changes], together with her co-author Florian Schlederer. In the same year she was awarded as the "Austrian of the Year".

Instead of political and economic greenwashing, we must now move from talking to doing in order to make a future worth living possible!
— Katharina Rogenhofer

At the heart of the climate referendum are the many volunteers. Together we stand for the courageous climate policy. As a climate petition, we want to unite the forces of the climate movement and build bridges!

We are laying the foundations for the broadest climate alliance in Austria. This requires brave people who move forward together.
