The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the government ministry of Austria responsible for diplomatic missions and immigration, the administration of foreign policy, and the maintenance of the country's relations with international organisations, especially the European Union. It oversees the Austrian embassies, consular representatives and other emissaries, and administers the naturalisation process and handles citizenship questions along with the Interior Ministry.
“The promotion of women in art, culture and science is also particularly important for us at the Foreign Ministry. With the "Calliope" project, we are therefore now working together with the Women's Museum Hittisau to support our representative authorities around the world in presenting the achievements and accomplishments of contemporary women artists and scientists from Austria and, together with partners abroad, to implement projects and events in the spirit of promoting women.“
– Alexander Schallenberg, Minister for European and International Affairs

The Frauenmuseum Hittisau is a home to multiple voices and new discoveries that is full of inspiration. The focus is on women’s history and culture. The Frauenmuseum Hittisau has set itself the task of expanding historical narratives to include aspects that have not or only marginally been researched and documented. It sees itself as a window into the world and deals with topics relating to the history and cultural work of women in different cultures. A critical look at the present and the past always plays a central role. At the same time, the Frauenmuseum Hittisau takes into account the region in which it is located. Therefore, special attention is paid to Bregenzerwald and Vorarlberg women's history.
“Calliope is an international expression of the vitality of women in Austria.“
– Stefania Pitscheider Soraperra, Director of Women's Museum Hittisau

The Future Fund of the Republic of Austria subsidizes scientific and pedagogical projects which foster tolerance and mutual understanding on the basis of a close examination of the sufferings caused by the Nazi regime on the territory of present-day Austria. Keeping alive the memory of the victims as a reminder for future generations is one of our main targets, as well as human rights education and the strengthening of democratic values.

The Cultural Department of the Province of Vorarlberg covers a broad cross-disciplinary spectrum. Funding is provided for artistic and cultural projects of individuals as well as artistic and cultural activities of institutions (annual contributions and project funding).
