Acharn Mae Chee Brigitte Schrottenbacher comes from Austria and entered the order in 1990 in a monastery in Thailand and since then has been teaching and living as a nun Acharn Mae Chee in various monasteries in Thailand and Bhutan. She is an internationally recognised Dhamma teacher and regularly travels to Europe to teach Samatha and Vipassana meditation. From 1994 Brigitte spent 7 years at Wat Tungsammakeedhamm in Sam Chuk, spending her time doing intense meditation and later caring for the elderly and sick. In 2009, Brigitte was awarded “Outstanding Woman in Buddhism 2009” on the International UN International Women's Day and honoured by Princess Chulabhorn of Thailand for her "Services to Peacebuilding and Aid to Humanity".

MC Brigitte tirelessly dedicates her resources to help those who are less fortunate, providing them with essential assistance and support to improve their lives. In addition to her philanthropic endeavors, MC Brigitte is a talented artist. Her expressive paintings reflect her deep spirituality and compassion, serving as both a creative outlet and a means to generate income for her altruistic pursuits. The majority of the proceeds from her art sales are channeled into her charitable work, ensuring that her talents contribute to the betterment of those in need.
