LUNA AL-MOUSLI
Cultural worker. Author.
In her stories, Luna Al-Mousli manages to break its harshness with sensuality. With this honesty, she succeeds in manifesting hitherto lesser-known realities of life in the literary landscape. As an author and graphic designer, her works, which have been translated several times, inspire not only literarily but also through their graphic design. In 2017, her debut novel "Eine Träne. A smile. Meine Kindheit in Damaskus" was awarded the Austrian Children's and Young People's Book Prize. Al-Mousli helps shape the Austrian art and cultural landscape in a critical and empathetic way, opening up spaces - both for herself and for others - and constantly rethinking and redefining them. She has given numerous readings, lectures and workshops in Austria and on international stages. Her life and her works move in the field of tension between art, literature and social engagement. Most recently, she published her current novel "Um mich herum Geschichten" (Stories Around Me) in 2022, edition.
