Julia Lacherstorfer
Musician. Artistic Director. Feminist.

From an early age, Julia Lacherstorfer experienced music in its most diverse manifestations of the everyday: the buzzing of her father's hurdy-gurdy, the clacking of her mother's spinning wheel or her grandfather's accordion playing from upstairs become familiar sounds and noises that shape Julia's childhood ears and eventually paved the way for her successful career as a musician. To this day, the multi-award-winning musician draws strength and inspiration from these musical experiences and from the folk music tradition of her home region, without losing her sense of the present. As a composer, performer (ALMA, SPINNERIN, Ramsch & Rosen) and artistic director of the wellenklænge, Lunz am See, she has long been an integral part of the Austrian music scene.

If we really listen to all the people in our society, perspectives become broader and narratives more diverse. And then change happens.
